This is likely a software issue, but something I've grown to notice. For example, I often use a Corsair headset (USB connection) for music, and it will NOT function unless I plug the hub and USB device in prior to starting, or I'm forced to restart. I have noticed that in order to use the USB ports, I must either plug this in prior to opening and starting the Macbook, or I have to restart it. It does not feel flimsy at all but quite sturdy.
